The Dodge GPEC5 PCM Upgrade Service is a one-time, send-in service required to enable supported tuning and diagnostic workflows on select Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles equipped with the GPEC5 powertrain control module (PCM).

Additionally, users require the 2018+ Dodge Smart Access Cable to enable read, write, and special features.

Once upgraded, the PCM can be accessed using HP Tuners software for diagnostics, data logging, and supported calibration changes when paired with the appropriate interface and required accessories.

This service applies to vehicles equipped with the GPEC5 PCM, including:

• 2023–2024 RAM 1500 – 5.7L eTorque
• 2022–2024 Jeep Wrangler – 3.6L
• 2021–2024 Jeep Gladiator – 3.6L

Vehicle compatibility should always be confirmed prior to purchase.

The ZF 8-speed transmission (TCM) found in these vehicles is supported without an upgrade service.

To tune the TCM:

• License the transmission controller using four (4) Universal Credits
• No send-in service is required for the TCM

This is a send-in upgrade service.

• You must remove the PCM from the vehicle and ship it to HP Tuners for processing.
• Once received, HP Tuners will upgrade the PCM and return it ready for use with the latest version of VCM Suite.
• Typical service time is up to 7 business days, not including shipping time.
• This is an upgrade-only service. No programming changes are performed. The calibration present on the controller when it arrives will remain unchanged when it is returned.

Once your PCM is upgraded, the following items are required:

• HP Tuners 2018+ Dodge Smart Access Cable
• Compatible HP Tuners interface:
  • MPVI3 or MPVI4 (required for all GPEC5 applications)
• Latest version of VCM Suite (BETA)
• Four (4) Universal Credits to license the upgraded PCM, an additional four (4) Universal Credits to license the TCM (optional).

Universal Credits are not included and must be purchased separately.

• Please note this service is required to tune your GPEC5 PCM controlled Dodge vehicle.
• This service is an upgrade only service. No programming is performed during the service. If you are interested in having your PCM programmed as well, please contact our support team by submitting a ticket before purchasing.
• In addition to this service, all models require an HP Tuners 2018+ Dodge Smart Access Cable. We recommend you purchase this cable in a separate order to avoid delays.
• Please ensure you are sending in ONLY a PCM. No brackets, rubber isolators, or other pieces should be included. These components may not be returned with your upgraded PCM.
• PCMs with broken “LOCKING” tabs or connectors WILL NOT be accepted for upgrades. No exceptions.
• This is a one-time upgrade that will not affect other operations of the PCM. The factory tools will still work for service.

• These ECM/PCM/TCM services are completed at the owner’s risk. HP Tuners will not be responsible for the vehicle, its powertrain, or electronics, nor how the control module is used, calibrated, and its functionality.
• Due to the factory location of the controller in the vehicle, all ECM/PCM/TCMs will exhibit signs of weathering and wear, which is completely normal.
• When utilizing this service there is a possibility that the vehicle will need to be sent to the dealers to be re synced. Purchaser accepts all liability for this activity.
