The GM E46 ECM Upgrade Service is a one-time, send-in service required to enable supported tuning and diagnostic workflows on select 3.0L Duramax (LM2) applications equipped with the E46 engine control module (ECM).

Once upgraded, the ECM can be accessed through HP Tuners software for diagnostics, data logging, and supported calibration changes when paired with a compatible interface.

This service applies to non-Global B vehicles equipped with the E46 ECM, including:

• 2020–2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – 3.0L Duramax (LM2)
• 2020–2022 GMC Sierra 1500 – 3.0L Duramax (LM2)

Vehicle Compatibility should always be confirmed prior to purchase.

HP Tuners also supports the T93 TCM found in select 2020+ GM vehicles.

If your vehicle is equipped with a T93 TCM, a separate TCM service may be required. Refer to the GM T93 TCM Services page for details.

This is a send-in upgrade service.

• You must remove the ECM from the vehicle and ship it to HP Tuners for processing.
• Once received, HP Tuners will upgrade the ECM and return it ready for use with the latest version of VCM Suite.
• Typical service time is up to 7 business days, not including shipping time.
• This is an upgrade-only service. No programming changes are performed. The calibration present on the controller when it arrives will remain unchanged when it is returned.

As long as the ECM is reinstalled into the same vehicle it came from, no additional procedures are required:

• No immobilizer relearn
• No crank relearn
• No “Replace ECM” function

Once your ECM is upgraded, the following items are required:

• Compatible HP Tuners interface:
  • MPVI2, MPVI2+, MPVI3, or MPVI4
• Latest version of VCM Suite (BETA)
• Six (6) Universal Credits to license the ECM (sold separately)

Universal Credits are not included and must be purchased separately.

• This service requires shipment of your original ECM
• ECMs with damaged connectors or broken locking tabs will not be accepted
• This is an upgrade-only service; no calibration changes are performed
• Always verify vehicle configuration before purchase

• Please allow up to 7 business days (not including shipping times) per PCM that you send in for the upgrade process to be completed.
• Any additional hardware ordered with this product will be shipped along with your controller. To avoid any delays on other products, please create a separate order for those items.

• These ECM/PCM/TCM services are completed at the owner’s risk. HP Tuners will not be responsible for the vehicle, its powertrain, or electronics, nor how the control module is used, calibrated, and its functionality.
• Due to the factory location of the controller in the vehicle, all ECM/PCM/TCMs will exhibit signs of weathering and wear, which is completely normal.
• When utilizing this service there is a possibility that the vehicle will need to be sent to the dealers to be re synced. Purchaser accepts all liability for this activity.
